RUMFORD — There will be giant birds, masks, hats and lots of animals — all made of balloons by Zany Jer Remian — at 49 Franklin on Saturday, June 18. These, combined with the foolish antics of Scot Grassette, will be the highlights of the Air-Head Balloon Festival.

Jer Remian, a comic magician, has performed his wacky stunts for families for more than 15 years throughout New England. His specialty is his giant balloon creations.

Grassette is president of the Society of American Magicians of Portland and has sculpted balloon animals for 25-plus years. Known for his fast hands and quick twists, he can create a basic balloon dog in seconds flat.

Among the Air Head stunts to be performed will be Air-Zooka Ping-Pong Ball on a Hair Dryer.

Jer Remian and Grassette have both won Portland’s Society of American Magician’s Ralph Greenwood trophy for Excellence in Comedy Magic.

Tickets, $6, include include a balloon hat, one workshop balloon and a chance to win a giant 3-foot helium-filled Earth balloon. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for seating and an available lunch menu of chicken nuggets and fingers, cheese sticks, fried green beans, mac and cheese, and an assortment of deserts and goodies. The show starts at 12:30 p.m.

Tickets are available at Bartash and All That Jazz on Congress St. They will also be sold at the door, 49 Franklin St.
