TURNER — Jeffery and Dominique Mavelli of Houston, Texas, and Newtown, Conn., are announcing the engagement of their daughter,  Alexandra Shoun Mavelli of Colorado Springs, Colo., to Joshua Lucien Doyon of Norden, Calif., son of Gaston and Julie Doyon of Turner.

Miss Mavelli is a 2003 graduate of Canterbury School in New Milford, Conn., and a 2007 graduate of Connecticut College in New London, Conn., with a degree in history and art. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in history at the University of Colorado. She is employed at the Fountain Valley School of Colorado as an equestrian and lacrosse coach and at the University of Colorado as a teaching assistant.

Mr. Doyon is a 2001 graduate of Leavitt Area High School and a 2005 graduate of St. Michael’s College in Colchester, Vt., with degrees in history and political science. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in technology integration at Boise State University. He is employed at Sugar Bowl Academy in Norden, Calif. as a history teacher.

The wedding will be held on July 23 at the Chapel of Our Lady at Canterbury School in New Milford, Conn., where the couple met.
