HARRISON — Robert E. Butler, 85, of Ryefield Bridge Road, died June 20, at his residence.
He was born in Otisfield, May 16, 1926, the son of Joseph and Edith (McCaully) Butler.
Bob attended Oxford schools and graduated from Oxford High School. He was one of eight graduates at his 50th reunion that were able to attend. He along with his brother, Chuck, joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific as a signalman.
He was employed by “Ma Bell” for many years working out of Rumford, South Portland, Westbrook, and retired from the Harrison Office.
Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed playing cribbage and gardening. He was a member of the Crooked River Masonic Lodge, Kora Shrine and the Telephone Pioneers.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou (Weatherbee) of Harrison; her daughters, Donna and Susan Weatherbee, Patty Grassi, Cindy Downs and their children; his daughter, Rebecca Laliberte and her daughter, Lauriane, both of Greene; and his sister, Marilyn, of Florida.
