Friends of Maine Aviation held its annual meeting in Rangeley on Saturday despite Mother Nature’s showers and gloomy skies. Several pilots brought their planes to the event, drawing crowds to watch them take off and land on Rangeley Lake. The group has 50 members who either live in the area or spend summers and vacation time in the region. Much of the money FOMA raises supports charitable causes and helps send a young person to Aviation Camp at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor for a week each summer.
