HARRISON — The annual Olde Home Days festival will take place July 7-9 at Crystal Lake Park, with a kickoff 5K road race Wednesday, July 6. Packed with fireworks, carnival rides, local treats and entertainment, the event raises money to support the children of Harrison throughout the year ahead.

The Harrison recreation program’s 5K road race will start at 7 p.m. July 6. Preregister before July 1 for $13; Harrison residents, $10. To enter the day of the race, visit the town office between 5 and 6:45 p.m. Fee: $18; Harrison residents, $15. To register online visit www.runreg.com/events/register. The first 100 entrants will receive a tee shirt. All entrants receive a whoopie pie at the end of the race.

The carnival, held at the Crystal Lake park, runs from Thursday, July 7, through Saturday, July 9. The food booth and raffle booths open at 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The midway, with Smokey’s Greater Shows, opens at 5:30 on Thursday and Friday and reopens after the parade on Saturday.

Entertainment is scheduled for all three nights. On Thursday, Skosh will perform their eclectic blend of funk and rock live on the Olde Home Days stage at 7:30 p.m., followed by fireworks over Crystal Lake. Entertainment Friday night is the Country Ridge Riders at 7:30. Saturday, there will be entertainment on the stage from 4-6:30 when singer Jordan Kaulback performs followed by the Imari Desert Dancers at 7 p.m. and the Afterburners at 8 p.m.

The junior parade on Friday night will line up at the First Congregational Church. Registration is 5:30 in the parking lot. The parade route is to the gazebo in the Long Lake Park. Finalists will be invited to join the grand parade. To take part in the grand parade, email sisudailey@gmail.com.
