NORWAY — The Norway Recreation Department is currently holding junior and adult tennis clinics at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School tennis courts. The Junior Tennis Clinic is for ages 8-18 and features two sessions: one from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and the other from 4-5 p.m. The clinic began June 27 and will continue June 28-30 and July 5-7 and 11. The adult clinic is for ages 18 and above. Sessions  will run from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and from 4-5 p.m. on July 12-14, 18, 19, 21 and 25. There is a limit of 12 students per session.

The clinic will be taught by Walter Perry, OHCHS tennis coach. The fee is $75; a portion of this fee will go to the upkeep of the Town of Norway tennis courts.

Participants will be divided up by age level and ability. The focus will be on basic strokes (forehand, backhand, volleys and the serve) and learning to rally. Rules of the game using lots of skills drills for technique and agility will also be included. Some racquets will be available for those who need to borrow one.

Registration forms are available at www.norwaymaine.com and the Town Office. FMI, contact Parks & Recreation Director Deb Partridge.
