LIVERMORE FALLS — Police say they have made progress in an investigation into a home invasion on Monday that left a grandmother with nine stitches in her forehead and other injuries.

Two masked men with a handgun entered Dot Bailey’s residence at Pine Ridge Loop at about 9 a.m. Monday. They stole her money, but not without a fight.

The men left the residence on foot, running up Route 106.

Since then, police have received many anonymous tips on the case, Sgt. Steve Allen said Tuesday.

“We’ve made some good progress. We’ve done interviews and re-interviews,” he said.

The suspects remained at large Tuesday afternoon.

Livermore Falls police Lt. Thomas Gould took evidence gathered at the scene to the State Crime Laboratory on Monday afternoon to be analyzed.

Allen said he didn’t believe there was a connection to a home invasion early on June 21 in Farmington that left an 81-year-old woman dead.
