DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m looking for a sewer or crafter to make pants with a drop-down front for a person in a wheelchair with the use of only one hand. I’ve looked on the Web, and there are some for sale at exorbitant prices — the result of having a “captive market.”

The design is basically a waistband that stays buttoned or Velcroed, with a Velcro panel that pulls down for complete access to a urinal. (If the person is wearing incontinence briefs, those have to be pulled apart also, so a simple fly doesn’t work.)

I’m thinking that for an individual or sewing/crafting group, this could be an ongoing project. It would provide a good service, which could be advertised on hospital and nursing home bulletin boards as being made to size. It’s expensive to be handicapped, so anything reasonably priced should find many takers. — Pamela, epamela80@yahoo.com

ANSWER: Sun Spots bets that one of her talented readers will offer to help you with these special pants. As you suggest, this could be a potential business idea for an enterprising entrepreneur.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We enjoy your column every day. You have helped so many people in the past, so here we are again.

Where can we find thin or summer long johns? My hubby used to buy them at J.C. Penney. If anybody out there knows where to get them, please write to Sun Spots. Thanks again for your help. — No Name, Lewiston

ANSWER: Sun Spots can’t imagine wearing long johns in the summer! But perhaps what you have in mind isn’t what she pictures. One of the best sources for old-fashioned stuff is the Vermont Country Store (802-776-5730); they have cotton union suits available for $34.95 if that would be helpful. Hopefully readers will have more to offer.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: It has been 50 years since the Class of 1961 graduated from Sabattus High School.

The classes were small, so there were no class reunions. I would like to invite anyone who attended Sabattus High in the late 1950 to early’60s to come spend a few hours of reminiscing at my home at 120 Jackson Hill Road, Minot, on July 17, from 2 p.m. to whenever.

Please bring lawn chairs. Those wishing to swim should bring their swimsuits.

For more information, call me at 346-3373 (home) or 740-1125 (cell) anytime.

I hope we’ll see a lot of former students, and teachers if available. — Joan M. Morin. Minot

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Congregational Church of East Sumner is very pleased to offer vacation Bible school for kindergarten through grade-six children from July 25 to 29. The theme is “Encountering God” and will include lots of singing, crafts, Bible skits, recreation and snacks. The sessions will run from 9 a.m. to noon, but children should come early to register. The adults and older youth of the church will be assisted by the youth group from a Spotsylvania, Va., church, who will also be doing community service work in the area.

On Saturday, July 9, at 5:30 p.m. the church will hold a public supper of barbecue chicken and beanhole beans with salads, bread and dessert. The cost is $7 person, $3 for children under 12, and $20 maximum for immediate family members. The beans will be put in on Friday evening with a campfire sing-along and toasted marshmallows from 6:30-9 p.m. in the pavilion beyond the parking lot.

Please join us on Sundays for 9 a.m. morning worship (coffee hour following the service) and 10:45 a.m. sermon discussion with Pastor Howard MacMullen. Every Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. we have Bible study (exciting study of the book of Mark). Please call Bill or Linda Glass at 388-2263 with any questions. — Cynthia Norton, Sumner
