NAPLES — Norway Savings Bank is the presenting sponsor for the 6th annual Golfing for Eli & Cailyn event, to be held Saturday, July 16, at the Naples Country Club. World champion snowboarder Seth Wescott will golf in the tournament with Norway Savings Bank.

This event was named for Eli Rogers and Cailyn Fowler, two local children living with cystic fibrosis. Both Eli and Cailyn are very active and busy kids, despite undergoing multiple treatments on a daily basis to help the side effects of cystic fibrosis. Cailyn just completed her sophomore year at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. She loves to dance and is looking forward to getting her driver’s license. Eli is seven years old and just finished first grade, where he excelled at math and spelling. Outside of school, he stays busy skiing and playing baseball.

Cystic fibrosis is a chronic illness that affects the lungs and digestive system of more than 30,000 children and adults in the United States. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and will be used for research to cure the illness. Since 2005, the golf tournament has raised more than $70,000 and is the largest contributing fundraiser to Great Strides in Northern New England.
