BRIDGTON — Joseph F. Bumbaca Jr., 69, of Norway, formerly of Bedford, Mass., passed away on July 7, at Bridgton Hospital with his family by his side, after a courageous second battle with cancer.
He was born in Boston, Mass., Dec. 17, 1941, the son of Joseph Sr. and Mary Ierino Bumbaca. He was a mason contractor, general contractor and owned and operated his own business building many homes over the years. He always built the family home. He married Gail Meulengracht.
He was a member of the Norway/Paris Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling and traveling with his wife, Gail. He played a large role in the construction of Beth’s house.
He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate, Gail, whom he was married to for 48 years; his son, Joseph III and his wife, Margaret, and their children, Joseph IV (B4) and Marlena; his son, Michael and his wife, Pam, and their children, Jake and Joshua; his daughter, Julie and her mate, Robert Newell, and her children, Dwayne and Colton; his son, Jimmy and his children, James and Carissa; his faithful dog, Mickey; his brother, Carl and his wife, Jean; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Joseph; his brother, Dominic; his sister, Constance; his brother/cousin, Frank; and his granddaughter, Alexandra.
