CANTON, N.Y. — Kyle Marvinney, class of 2011, of Readfield, has been elected to St. Lawrence University’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the national academic honor society. Marvinney majored in geology and is a graduate of Maranacook Community.

Election to Phi Beta Kappa is one of the highest distinctions of academic achievement a student can obtain. Election is based on grade-point average and completion of appropriate credits toward a St. Lawrence University degree. To be considered, students must earn a 3.5 or better cumulative grade-point average by the close of their junior year, and have completed six semesters at St. Lawrence.
