LEWISTON — Dorothy May (Roche) Warner, 82, passed away at Marshwood Center in Lewiston on July 6. She is now breathing effortlessly in her heavenly home. She has resided in Lewiston with her daughter’s family for the past five years.

She was born in Boston, Sept. 1, 1928, the seventh of nine children of William and Dorothy Roche. She graduated from Roslindale High School in Massachusetts in 1946.

On Dec. 19, 1948, she married Robert K. Warner. Bob and Dot raised their family from Massachusetts to New York, California, New Jersey and Maine. She was a homemaker when her children were young and later helped support the family in a number of roles, from clerk to seamstress, to product assembly of electronics.

Dorothy was an avid reader and made friends with local librarians across the country. She enjoyed cross-country skiing, sewing, cards, dancing and puzzles. Anyone who knew her enjoyed her sense of humor, practical jokes, and varied hats and costumes. She especially enjoyed decorating for holidays.

She will be sadly missed by her four children and their families, son, Dr. Donald Warner of Rochester, N.H.; daughter-in-law, Claire Warner; daughter, Leslie Parker (Michael) of Lewiston; son, Gary Warner (Karen) of Springvale and son, David Warner (Kathleen) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Denise Botelho (Keith), Jessica Warner, Dan Warner, Claire Warner, John Warner (Alicia), Michael Warner (Sarah), Matthew Parker (fiance, Kelsey Rioux), Ryan Warner and James Warner; she had six great-grandchildren, Ethan, Julia, Kiley Rae, Caleb, Cooper and Wyatt; Dorothy’s surviving siblings are Sheila Mann of Shaftsbury, Vt., and Eileen Roche of Waynesboro, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert on Dec. 17, 2002.

The family would like to acknowledge the special care given weekly by Tracy of Lincare, and the wonderful staff at CMMC. We extend special thanks to the caring staff of Marshwood Center who befriended Mom and provided skilled care that made her so comfortable.
