LEWISTION — L/A Arts Gallery 5 is celebrating summer with a new exhibit “Say It With Color.” The public is invited to the exhibit’s opening reception, to be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 22, in Gallery 5, at 49 Lisbon St,, next to FUEL Restaurant. This exhibit in the downtown gallery will run from July 22 through Aug. 20.

The exhibit features a mix of oil paintings, pastel and watercolors, photos, one fiber piece and one glass and ceramic piece, as well as jewelry. Vivid sunflowers, bright yellow buildings, ballerinas in red, dramatic sunsets. Curator Tammie Grieshaber says “Walking into the gallery is an explosion of color! We have many large, exciting pieces that give the exhibit a great deal of energy. Ray Michaud has again created a layout that flows so easily around the gallery and just wraps around viewer.”

Gallery 5 is a community outreach initiative of L/A Arts. It features and promotes works of art in all media and serves as an educational resource for those who are familiar with original art and those for whom original art is a new experience. Through exhibitions and programs, Gallery 5 provides a unique venue for contemporary art in Maine.

Marquis, Diane Mawhinney, Ray Michaud, Julie Middleton, Chris Noyes, Petrea Noyes, George Paton, Don Peterson, Susan Roux, Bill Tomsa and Debra Trafton.
