NORWAY — The Highland String Trio, a local Maine favorite, will play for the 5th Saturday Norway contra dance beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at the Norway Grange on Whitman Street. Maggie Robinson will call. A pre-dance public supper will be hosted by the Heywood Club from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Grange.

The menu will be potato salad, broccoli salad, sliced cold ham, bread, pineapple dessert and coffee. $7 adult and $3 children. Proceeds benefit the club.

Lauren Scott, Chris Bannon and Walt Bannon, make up the Highland String Trio. Lauren has been playing Celtic style fiddle since she was 10 years old and is an instructor. Chris has been playing guitar since he was 13 and has added mandolin to his repertoire in the trio. Walt has been singing, writing songs and playing guitar in churches since he was 14 years old. He performs healthy kids concerts at public schools and provides vocals, flute and guitar accompaniment in the group. More information about the group can be found at www.highlandstringtrio.com.
