LITCHFIELD — “Country Fest Maine 2011,” featuring country, bluegrass and folk music by Maine artists, will be held at the Litchfield Fairgrounds on Aug. 5-7.

Headlining the Saturday night show will be David Frizzell, with a two-hour show beginning at 8 p.m.

Also scheduled to perform are The Roadrangers, featuring Tommy Thompson, The Higgins Family, Rock & Country, Tux Burke, Brian Plato, the Wildwoods Band, Bobby Reed & Wildhorse Band, Gary Leet & The Country Drifters, Over The Hillbillies Band, Maine-ly Country Band, Potpourri, Missing Pieces, Teresa Seavey, Mary & Maurice Belanger, Mary Murphy, Fred Couverette, Barry Wood, Dean LePage, Walt Weymouth & Ryan Reed, Landon Hixon, Patty Jean Michard, Rhea Michard, Paul Bright, Slim Andrews and Brenda Millett.

On Friday night, there will be an open jam session for all musicians and singers, with full sound and dancing on the dance floor under the stars. Admission is $10 per carload. 

Saturday, the gates will open at 9 a.m. An acoustic jam open to all musicians will be held in the covered arena. Performers will take the stage from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday admission is $10 per person, children under 12 free.

Sunday, the gates will open at 8:30 a.m. Cowboy church will be held from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Gospel music will follow until 11:30 a.m. with  country, bluegrass and folk music from 11:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday admission is also $10 per person, children under 12 free.

Food and merchandise vendors will be on hand all weekend, and Country Fest Maine memorabilia will be on sale.

For those who would like to stay the weekend, RV and tent campsites are available.
