CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Lauren Fish, daughter of Gary and Susan Fish of Wayne, was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree with high honors (magna cum laude) in elementary education and human development at the 135th commencement of Boston College on May 23.

Approximately 3,000 graduates received degrees.

Lauren is a graduate of Maranacook High School in Readfield. At Boston College, Lauren was awarded the Cynthia J. Sullivan Memorial Achievement Award including a $5,000 stipend to fund graduate study or post-graduate travel; she also received the Lynch School Award for Academic Achievement and Outstanding Performance in Field Placement and the Teacher Performance Assessment Project Award.

Fish was a member and former director of the Sharps a cappella group, volunteered for the Books for Zambia organization and travelled to Egypt and Tanzania on a Fulbright study tour. She spent one semester at Murdoch University in Perth, Australia. She is a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu Boston College Chapter of the Jesuit Honor Society.
