WAYNE — Cary Memorial Library will host the Summer Loon Festival and lobster roll lunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6. The library is located at Old Winthrop Road.  Sponsored by the Friends of the Library

Events include a bake sale beginning at 10 a.m. while the home-baked goods last, craft table, including loon ornaments, and loon stories for children.

From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Priscilla Berry Stevenson, will hold a book signing of “Safe in a Box in the Attic,” the story of her 1926 Wayne Primary School redwork quilt and its return visit to Wayne. The antique redwork quilt will be on display.

At 11 a.m. there will be more loon stories for children. At 11:15 there will be a loon calling contest with prizes for all ages.

From noon to 1 p.m., a lobster roll lunch will take place under the tent on the library lawn. A chicken salad option will be available.

There will also be music and an ongoing silent auction. The event is rain or shine. For more information, call 685-3612.
