FARMINGTON — A dispute between coaches after a New England Babe Ruth Tournament game Tuesday night brought police to Hippach Field at about 9 p.m., according to a police report.

Following the game between the Manchester, N.H., and Braintree, Mass., teams, the coaches got into a heated dispute. When a 15-year-old Braintree player stepped in and put a hand on the chest of each coach in an attempt to stop them, the Manchester coach pushed his hand away, Farmington Police secretary Bonnie Pomeroy read from the report.

No one was injured in the incident.

Farmington police Sgt. Michael Adcock and officer Kim Bates, along with Sandy Burke from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department responded to what was reported as a physical fight.

After discussing the process and what would happen if criminal charges were filed against the coach, the player and his mother decided to leave any disciplinary action up to the national Babe Ruth league.

The New Hampshire team was eliminated Tuesday night by a score of 2-1.
