AUBURN — On Thursday, Aug. 11, L/A Arts will continue its free “Sounds of Summer”concert series with a performance by singer-songwriter Anni Clark, whose music is part folk, part blues and all parts original.
She will play at noon at Festival Plaza in the downtown.
For more than 20 years, Clark, a Maine native, has performed nationwide. She is known for her captivating voice, mindful lyrics, guitar playing and passion for communication through music.
Clark’s sixth solo, and most recent recording, “Anni Clark LIVE,” earned her a nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year in the Texas Music Awards. In 2003, she won Female Artist of the Year and Folk Artist of the Year awards in Jam Music Magazine’s Readers’ Pix Awards.
A two-time finalist in the New Folk Songwriters’ Competition at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas, Clark has shared stages from Maine to Texas with the likes of Shawn Colvin, Richie Havens, Patty Larkin, Leo Kottke and Cheryl Wheeler.
If it rains, the concert will be moved to the Franco-American Heritage Center, 46 Cedar St., Lewiston. For more information, call 782-7228 or visit www.laarts.org.
