ROCHESTER, N.H. — Robert J. Coulombe, 55, died unexpectedly Aug. 4, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston, Sept. 17, 1955, the son of Louis and Imogene (Severance) Coulombe. He was raised in Lewiston and attended schools there, before the family moved to Lisbon, where he finished high school.

After high school, he spent six years in the U.S. Air Force and during this time he married and had a son with Kathleen Footman and although they later divorced, they remained friends.

After his military service, he settled in New Hampshire. He was employed as a supervisor at Thompson Arms. Always the first to help anyone, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do, from carpentry to taking a car apart to cooking. He had a great personality and always had many friends. He enjoyed everything from skiing to the great times he had fishing with his son, as he had done with his dad.

He is survived by his son, Scott of New Hampshire; mother, Imogene, and brother, Michael, of Auburn; and his loving companion of many years, Janet Stillman.

He was predeceased by his father, Louis.
