WILTON — Members of more than 15 civic and service groups will talk about what they do during a community presentation from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 17 in Kineowatha Park’s Reunion Barn.
The event is open to everyone, the Wilton Group, organizer of the event, said.
Residents and visitors alike can learn about the many civic and service groups that Wilton has to offer. There will be short presentations, a time for mingling and refreshments.
Service to the area in one form or another is the unifying theme of the evening. Groups include the Historical Society, several women’s clubs, Scouts, Friends of Wilson Lake, Foothills Conservancy, Friends of the Library, Parks and Rec, the Lions, the Granges, and more, will share their roles in the community.
Those who have a need or know someone who does or those who want to help out in town but didn’t know where to start are invited to learn about the groups’ efforts.
“Part of our mission is to be a resource for the community,” presentation organizer Michael Hoehne said. “There are so many people working to make Wilton a good place to live, not enough people know what these groups are or what they do for us. In fact, there may be a group we haven’t heard of ourselves, and if they would like to participate and haven’t been contacted, we invite them to give us a call at 779-9026.”
