FARMINGTON — Franklin County deputies arrested three local men in connection with the theft of more than $5,000 in automobile parts from a Temple property, Sheriff Lt. Niles Yeaton said Friday.

Charged were Charles N. Rogers, 53, Victor Oliver, 27, and Gordon Webber, 20. A fourth suspect, Roger Bailey Jr., 26, of Temple, was being sought Friday in connection with the case, the lieutenant said.

Yeaton said a Temple man talked to a deputy last week about missing car parts and was advised to set up a camera on his property. On Thursday, the man checked his camera and saw four men carrying away automobile parts and called the Sheriff’s Department.

Deputy Sandy Burke was able to identify two of the suspects, and he and Sgt. Steven Lowell went to one of their residences and saw parts allegedly stolen from the Temple man’s property.

They got a search warrant for Rogers’ property on Clover Mills Road, Yeaton said, and Burke, Lowell and Detectives Thomas White and David St. Laurent recovered stolen property there.

Rogers was arrested Thursday on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and released on $2,000 unsecured bail that day.

Deputies arrested Oliver and Webber on Friday on one count each of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, Yeaton said. Oliver faces a charge of violation of probation and Webber, a charge of violation of conditions of release/bail, he said. Both were being held without bail until they go before a judge.

Deputies expected to arrest Bailey later Friday, Yeaton said.

The owner of the automobile parts estimated their value at $5,240, Yeaton said. Deputies took photos of the seized property and returned it to him, he said.
