Greetings!

It is with no small amount of pride that I welcome one and all to this year’s edition of the Great Falls Balloon Festival. This festival is the result of hours and hours of work, over months and months, by literally hundreds of people, from the two cities of Lewiston and Auburn who commit so much of their resources, to the volunteers who set up and operate the many attractions the festival has to offer, to the nonprofit organizations who are at the heart of the festival, and, of course, to the balloonists.

We, the board of directors for the Festival, encourage everyone to come join us on festival weekend, August 19-21, at Simard-Payne Memorial Park in Lewiston, and Festival Plaza in Auburn, for what is always a memorable time. Whether you come for the entertainment (on two stages, one on each side of the river), or for the many food booths hosted by local nonprofit groups, or for the children’s area, the field demonstrations, the crafters and artists, the carnival, or the memorable experience of watching the balloons launch (or maybe even taking a ride in one), you will certainly enjoy this free community event.

On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to thank all of our sponsors, the cities of Lewiston and Auburn, and the many volunteers involved in all aspects of the festival, as well as the local landowners and communities who provide safe landing areas for the balloons, for making this festival, which has become a signature event for the Twin Cities, the outstanding weekend it has grown to be.

Most of all, enjoy yourselves!
