MEXICO — Stephens High School Class of 1954 will hold their monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at the Covered Wagon. Classmates and guests are welcomed to attend.
Splash day
CARTHAGE — Splash Carthage Fun Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. The theme is rednecks and the fun includes pie throwing, fry pan toss, bounce house, dunk tank, horse shoes, cribbage, carnival games, antiques, clowns, face painting, raffles, flea market and a food sale.
Parade line up is at 9:30 a.m.; starts at 10 a.m. from Bradbury’s Market to the Blue Moose General Store and Camp Ground on Route 142. All are welcome to be in the parade: old cars, motorcycles, ATVs, walking with or without animals, bicycles, horses, ponies and steer. For information call 562-4908 or 562-7072.
Grange sale
DIXFIELD — East Dixfield Grange will hold a yard/craft/food sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the East Dixfield Grange Hall. Table space is available. For more information, call 645-2423.
Sale for cats
DIXFIELD — The nonprofit River Valley Animal Advocates will hold a yard sale at the corner of Weld Street and North Avenue on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20 and 21. All money goes towards helping get cats fixed. For more information or to donate for the yard sale, call Becky at 597-2323.
Class of 1963
PERU — Stephens High School class of 1963 luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Charlie Day’s summer camp at Worthley Pond.

Lithuanian picnic
RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will host a picnic from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Black Mountain of Maine.
Authentic Lithuanian food will be available from 11:30 a.m. until sold out for a donation of $10 for adults and $6 for children under the age of 10. The food of the day will include a sampling of kugelis, kielbasa, beet soup and more.
Participants may bring your own picnic lunch and soft drink. A Christmas tree with homemade Lithuanian decorations will be on display along with dolls in authentic clothing. A professor visiting from Lithuania will give a presentation and answer questions on the old country.

Car show
DIXFIELD — The Dirigo High School Class of 2012 will host the 2nd annual Car Show on Sunday, Aug. 21, at Harlow Park. Gates open at 9 a.m. Voting ends at 1 p.m.
There are 10 classes, with trophies for top three places in each class. Entry fee is $5 per car. Spectator fee is $2. There will be a 50/50, music and plenty of food. Proceeds go to Dirigo High School Class of 2012 for Project Grad.
Bean supper
DIXFIELD — A bean supper will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at the Dixfield Flea Market on Main Street. The meal includes cole slaw, rolls, punch and cookies. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
The meal is sponsored by King Hiram Masonic Lodge #57.
Hymn sing
RUMFORD — A community hymn sing will take place at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at the Rumford Point United Church of Christ.
