RANGELEY — A local man faces charges after a family member reported to police that she was beaten, police Chief Dennis Leahy said Friday.
Officer Jared Austin arrested Jerome Sterling, 27, of Rangeley on charges of domestic assault and obstructing a report of a crime, he said.
The family member came to the police station Thursday to report the beating to Austin, he said. She complained of head and neck pain, so Austin took her next door to NorthStar Emergency Medical Services and personnel determined the injuries warranted taking her by ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital, Leahy said.
Sterling was taken to the Franklin County Jail in Farmington.
