The Longley School and Longley-Dionne VFW Post 9150 annually participate in Flag Day. The Longley VFW presented awards to the top three essay winners: first place, Kyle Campbell; second, Abdi Salan Sheiky-Bile; and third, Abdulahi Hassan. Awards were presented by VFW Commander Robert MacDonald. Also present were Longley School principal, teachers and students. Singing patriotic songs was Rita Gagnon. Representing the veterans, from left, are, Al Landry, Bert Dutil, Ron Arnault, Armand Bussiere, Bob MacDonald, Maurice Fournier, Norm Bussiere, Arthur Raymond and Don Dube. In front is four-year-old Matthew Lemelin, Armand Bussiere’s grandson.
