Farmers’ Market
WAYNE — Town of Wayne Farmers’ Market will host the Labor Day weekend celebration from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Town Green on the Mill Pond, Main Street. Musicians Chris Cushman and Friends will perform.
The Wayne Farmers’ Market features vendors selling Maine vegetables, baked goods, milk, cheese, yogurt, meat, wool, goat’s milk soap, eggs, herbs, perennials and flowers. The market will be open Saturdays until the end of September.

CODA Chorus
WINTHROP — The CODA Chorus will begin rehearsals for the fall season in preparation for the annual Christmas Concert. Rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the Winthrop United Methodist Church. Please come at 6:30 that first evening to pick up music and visit with fellow singers.
CODA members are excited to welcome new singers to the group, and are especially looking to add voices to the tenor and bass sections. CODA is under the direction of Ed Larson.

PHILLIPS — The Phillips Community Church Sunday morning worship service time will change to 11 a.m beginning Sunday, Sept. 11.
Historical Society
FARMINGTON — Farmington Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at Henderson Baptist Church for their usual potluck supper and a speaker.
The program will be Cheryl Willis Patten, who has had a long time interest in cemeteries. She is the current vice-president and a six time past president of MOCA, the Maine Old Cemetery Association. Additionally she chaired the June 2011 national conference for the Association for Gravestone Studies. Her presentation will be “Cemeteries: Stories of Our Past.”
Garden Club
FARMINGTON — Jo Thomas, artist/sculptor from Tennessee, known for creating more than 150 three dimensional, one of a kind garden sculptures from recycled vintage glass, will present at the Mt. Blue Area Garden Club meeting on Sept. 13th, at Trinity United Methodist Church on the Farmington Falls Road.
A breast cancer survivor, Jo names her pieces after women she has met who were fighting for their lives. A half hour social with desserts will start at 12:30 p.m., followed by Jo’s presentation and a regular club meeting led by Amy Palmer, club president. Hostesses will be Matiana Glass, Anne Kim and Kay Seefeldt. The public is invited. For more information, call 645-2067.
‘Great Minds’
FARMINGTON — A “Great Minds Don’t Think Alike” workshop will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at Franklin County Children’s Task Force.
Explore the world of learning’s styles and multiple intelligences. Through inquiry and interaction, participants learn about their personal learning preferences and discover ways to put their styles to work for them.
