FARMINGTON — Dr. Thomas Pulling will join the medical staff of Franklin Health Orthopaedics and Franklin Memorial Hospital on Sept. 6, according to Mavis Dubord, Franklin Health director of clinical and administrative services.
Pulling received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota and subsequently completed a three-year family medicine residency at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minn. He then worked for two years at Allina Hospitals and Clinics in Minneapolis, an outpatient family medicine and urgent care multi-specialty group.
His professional interest is in sport and athletic medicine and he has served as team physician at high school, collegiate and professional levels, including the University of Southern Maine and the Portland Pirates.
He is board-certified in family medicine and he recently completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Maine Medical Center. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and is a member and instructor for the National Ski Patrol.
Before becoming a physician, Pulling was an aerospace engineer for the U.S. Air Force and received numerous honors, including the U.S. Air Force Achievement Medal for Outstanding Achievement, the Commendation Medal for Outstanding Achievement, and the Humanitarian Service Medal.
Other providers at Franklin Health Orthopaedics are orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Nancy Cummings and physician assistant Isaac Ball. The practice is located on the second floor of the Franklin Health Medical Arts Center in Farmington.
