RANGELEY — Two people were injured Monday night in a rear-end collision in front of the IGA store on Route 4, police officer Ron Wood said.

Janine Spiller, 47, of Rangeley stopped her 1993 Volvo to turn left when her car was hit from behind by a 1994 Isuzu Trooper driven by Stacey Hallett, 63, of Eustis.

Both complained of back and chest pain and were taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital, Wood said. They were treated and released, hospital spokeswoman Jill Gray said.

Both vehicles are damaged beyond repair, Wood said.

The accident remains under investigation.
