INDUSTRY — The congregation of Shorey Chapel on Route 43 will welcome new pastor Lynda Giard of Chesterville when they gather for worship at an earlier time, 10 a.m., on Sunday, Sept. 4.

Giard will begin her second year at the Academy for Congregational Life and Leadership this fall and will also be a student at Bangor Theological Seminary to complete the process of becoming a licensed minister.

As a member of Old South Congregational UCC Church, Giard chaired the Outreach Committee and was involved with the SeniorsPlus meals and the Warming Center.

The congregation at Shorey Chapel  recognized their former minister, the Rev. Marcia Charles, on Aug. 25.
