RUMFORD — Lisbon didn’t get rattled when things got tough, rallying back from a 2-0 first-half deficit to pull out a 3-2 win over Mountain Valley in MVC field hockey action Wednesday.

Angel Strout, Hannah Jordan and Arianna Cahler all tallied for the Greyhounds (2-0) , with Cahler nailing the game-winner with 8:35 left in regulation. Whitney Ruff and Peyton Provencher scored for the Falcons.

Devon Brewer made six saves for Lisbon, while Emily Gallant turned back 11 shots for Mountain Valley.

Girls’ soccer

Lisbon 6, Boothbay 0

LISBON — Brooke Lawrence scored a hat trick to lead Lisbon to a 6-0 shutout over Boothbay in MVC girls’ soccer action Wednesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds (1-0-1) put three points on the board in the first half. Kayla Angelico contributed a goal and two assists for the victors.

Goalie McKayla McFetridge received a workout. Many of her 18 saves came from the one-handed and diving variety for the Seahawks. Alexa Harmon earned the win in goal with zero saves for Lisbon.

Monmouth 2, Hall-Dale 0

FARMINGDALE — Ashley Coulombe and Kylie Kemp traded goals and assists to lift Monmouth to a 2-0 victory over hall-Dale in girls’ soccer action Wednesday afternoon.

Both of the Mustang (2-0) goals were scored in the second half. The Bulldogs (0-2) outshot Monmouth 17-12, but failed to put the ball in the net.

Goalie Olivia Maynard had 10 saves for Hall-Dale, while Natalie Young prevented seven to earn the win in net for Monmouth.

Madison 2, Mountain Valley 1

RUMFORD — Sam McLaughlin and Melissa White each scored a goal in the first half as Madison hung on for a 2-1 victory in a girls’ soccer game Wednesday.

Mountain Valley’s Ari Glover scored her unassisted goal in the first half.

But no team scored in the second even though the Falcons outshot the

Bulldogs, 17-11.
