MECHANIC FALLS — A referendum on the Regional School Unit 16 budget will be held Tuesday. The $17.8 million spending plan for 2011-12 was passed at last week at a districtwide meeting, prompting the validation vote at the polls in Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland.

Polls will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the second floor of the Mechanic Falls Municipal Building, at the Minot Town Office and upstairs in the Poland Town Hall.

Residents may vote absentee at all three town offices until 4 p.m. Tuesday.
