BETHEL — Sammy Chapman will perform at noon Saturday, Sept. 17, on the Bethel Common as part of the annual Chowdah Fest.
The Bethel native once toured the nation as a Hank Williams impersonator and performer in a 1950s band. He returned to western Maine to raise his two children, Hannah and Brady, who are now adults.
Chapman has supported countless benefits in the region and is best known for his original heartfelt music, including children’s songs about the unlikely friendship between a prairie dog and a buffalo. He performed at the Frantasia Festival of Out Music and Arts held in August in Farmington.
