PARIS — A trial is set to begin Monday for a Norway man charged with gross sexual assault.
David McDaniels, 51, faces four charges of gross sexual assault in Oxford County Superior Court. The charges allege four assaults in 2005 and 2006 against a girl who was under 12 years old at the time.
After McDaniels was indicted in December 2010, Norway police Detective Gary Hill said the charges came up during another investigation into unlawful sexual touching against a different girl.
“During the course of our investigation it was disclosed that another underage female disclosed earlier events,” Hill said at the time.
McDaniels pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment in January. The trial is set to begin Monday morning. A jury was selected last Wednesday.
