OTISFIELD — The Spurrs Corner Church on Route 121 will host its annual missions conference from Sept. 24-28. The special guest will be Bounoeuy Kes, missionary to Cambodia. Kes is a native of Cambodia and survived the so-called Killing Fields of the Khmer Rouge regime. He later emigrated to the United States and became a U.S. citizen, but ultimately decided to return to his native country as a missionary. Kes will share his personal story as well as details about his current work.

The conference begins with a pot luck supper at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the church. Attendees are asked to bring a casserole, salad or dessert to share. Kes will give an informal talk about Cambodia after dinner.

Kes will again speak during the regular 9 a.m. worship service Sunday, Sept. 25. A brunch will follow at 10:15 during which children’s lives in Cambodia will be discussed. Kids of all ages will be able to try their hand at Cambodian kid’s games and learn what it is like to grow up in Cambodia.

A series of informal evening socials with Bounoeuy will be held at various location on Monday, Sept. 26, Tuesday, Sept. 27, and Wednesday, Sept. 28.
