AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services department at Central Maine Community College will introduce a new customer service training program in October to celebrate customer service month.

First Class Customer Service will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday mornings, Oct. 4 through 25. The cost of the four-part series is $249 and includes materials.

First Class Customer Service recognizes the importance of customer service and will help customer service team representatives, customer service teams and sales people alike refresh, recharge and reconnect to a commitment to first class customer care.

The series begins with the highly entertaining and motivational, “Give ’em the PICKLE!” teaching participants to be proud of their profession, honor customers, to set high standards and stick to them and wow customers with great teamwork. The second session provides students with an opportunity to observe and critique actual customer service scenarios at local retailers. Session three explores a variety of ways to handle difficult customers. The final session highlights the importance of teamwork in delivering first class customer service.

The program will be facilitated by Susan deGrandpre, who has an extensive background in customer service, training and management and has worked with individuals and organizations as a collaborative consultant for more than 10 years.
