KINGFIELD — Mt. Abram Regional Health Center will hold three flu clinics this month: Tuesdays, Oct. 4, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.; Oct. 11 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.; and Oct. 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

All flu clinics will be held at the health center located at 25 Depot St. There will be a charge of $15 for the vaccine for everyone, due at the time of the visit. Insurances will not be billed.

According to the Maine Center for Disease Control, influenza is a serious disease that can lead to hospitalization and death. Although anyone can get sick from the flu, certain populations are at a higher risk of having flu-related complications. They include young children, people aged 50 or older, health care personnel, pregnant women, people with chronic lung disease, diabetes, heart disease, neurologic conditions and certain other long-term health conditions.

For more information on the flu clinics, contact the health center at 265-4555 or visit www.Mt.AbramCHC.org.
