AUBURN — Gregg R. Fickett, 46, of Lewiston, passed away after a long illness on Sunday, Sept. 25, surrounded by family, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

He was born in Lewiston, March 11, 1965, the son of Lee R. and Frieda Bailey Fickett. He attended Lewiston schools. Gregg worked in surgical medical sales for more than 20 years and was a farrier for three years.

His daughter was the love of his life and he was thrilled to be a papaw. He loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing, horseback riding, chuck wagon races, skiing and motorcycling. For many years Gregg put a smile on childrens’ faces by providing them with Christmas gifts. He donated much time to the church and to the Pine Castle Memorial American Legion Squadron 286. He will be sadly missed but always remembered for his love and wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by his mother, Frieda Merrill of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a daughter, Chelsey Fickett Mielke and husband, Trenton of Hutchinson, Kan.; a grandson, Hunter Clay Fickett; four sisters, Susan Huppe and husband, Raymond of Cape Coral, Fla., Bonnie Lumb and husband, Peter of Ft. Myers, Fla., Mona Karole of Lewiston and Sharon Bell and husband, Michael of Liberty Township, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews, Heather Lumb of Windham, Michelle Hawley of Mechanic Falls, Scott Vachon of Orlando, Fla., Jennifer Conley of Lisbon Falls, Robin Huppe of Lewiston, Malissa Bell of Watertown, Mass., Stacey Vachon of Vail, Colo., Ryan Vachon of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Erin Bell of Marlborough, Mass. and Jonathan Bell of Hollis.

Gregg was predeceased by his Dad; two brothers, Lee Jr. and Gary Fickett; and a nephew, Andrew Lumb.
