HEBRON — The descendants of Mary Elizabeth Stewart and Charles Franklin Reed held their annual reunion in August at the home of Richard and Jane Hatch, with 29 members and guests attending.

Following a pot luck lunch, Jane Hatch, president, conducted the business meeting. A moment of silence was observed in memory of Helen Clinton and Stephen Greenleaf who had passed on during the year. The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were accepted as read. Officers elected for the ensuing year were: president, Jane Hatch; vice president, Kim Kobierski; secretary, Norma Gilbert; treasurer, Jasmine Hatch. The youngest member present was Jedrick Kobierski, and the eldest member was Jeanette Buck.

New babies born this year were a great-grandson to Pat Brown Etheridge and a son, Mason, to Jill and Igor Pereira. Jill is the daughter of Jean Sampson Worden, and the granddaughter of Elizabeth Gilbert Sampson. “Happy Birthday” was sung to those whose birthdays were in August.

Following the business meeting, Hatch asked family members to write a brief memory of their grandfathers. This was followed by a pie eating contest and egg tossing contest. Winner of the pie eating contest was Kyle Raney. Winners of the first egg toss were Bill Hatch and Jedrick Kobierski; the second contest winners were Jake Kobierski and Andrew Hatch.

Members and guests attended from Auburn, Lewiston, Buxton, Leeds, Jay, Litchfield, Augusta, Hebron, Livermore Falls, Lisbon, Wales, Danvers, Mass., and Northampton, Pa.

The next reunion will be held at the Hatch home on Sunday, Aug. 12.
