Story hour
NEW SHARON — The Jim Ditzler Memorial Library will have story hour from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. every other Thursday from Oct. 6 to May 31.
This year’s them is “One World, Many Stories.” Crafts and snacks will be included.
Open house
WILTON — An open house for Wilton Day Extension will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on the corner of High and School streets.
Rummage, book sale
EAST DIXFIELD — A rummage and book sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Mystic Valley Grange on Main Street. Lunch available. FMI: 645-2423.
Book sale
NEW SHARON — The Jim Ditzler Memorial Library will hold a bargain book sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8.
Paperback books will be 50 cents each or $4 per bag. Hardcover books will be $1 each or $8 per bag. Audio books on cassette, VHS movies and puzzles will be 50 cents each or three for a dollar.
Proceeds will benefit the library’s programs. For more information, call 779-1128.
Genealogy group
PHILLIPS — The Sandy River Valley Chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Phillips Historical House.
Following a program about the history of Phillips, there will be time for researching and a tour of the house.
Carpooling will be available from Farmington. Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome to attend. For more information, call 645-2257.
Chicken supper
PHILLIPS — The annual chicken supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the Phillips Elementary School. Menu includes chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, squash, green beans, cole slaw, cranberry sauce, assorted pies and cake. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. Held by the Phillips Community of Christian Women. $7 adults, $5 for age 12 and under.
