NOTICE: City of Lewiston Evening Schools for the fall term will begin Monday evening, October 9, 1911, in the Lincoln and Bates Streets School buildings. A deposit of one dollar will be required from each boy and fifty cents from each girl. The deposit will be returned at the close of the term on evidence of satisfactory attendance and deportment.

The monthly meeting of the Community Little Theater Association will be held at the Sylvan Avenue clubhouse at 8 o’clock this evening, when Louis Levey will present the program. Mr. Levey will play recordings by the original company of two hit musicals, “South Pacific” and “Oklahoma!”
Anyone interested in working on the production staff for the group’s first major production is invited to be present. Mrs. Stanley Bernard and Walter Boyce will report on the progress of the season ticket drive.

A top Chinese education official told the Sun on Friday that a visit to America is helping his country readjust the design of its curriculum “for the purpose of stirring up the potential of our students.”
A three-member delegation from Peking visited Bates College in Lewiston to “renew friendly ties and discuss future improvement” of a student-exchange program between the two countries that has flourished since it began in 1982, said Zhou Qiji, who is president of Peking Normal College of Foreign Languages.
