LISBON — Lindsey Whitney used a Olivia Harrington feed and scored the game-winning goal with 24 seconds left in double overtime as Lisbon escaped with a 2-1 victory over Boothbay in a field hockey game Wednesday.
Boothbay took a 1-0 lead in the first half when Alex Clarke scored with on a Sarah Caron pass.
In the second half, the Greyhounds (10-2-1) tied it up when Hanna Jordan scored on a Jessica Campbell assist.
Lisbon had a tough time with Boothbay even though the Greyhounds outshot the Seahawks, 27-8.
Winthrop 1, St. Dom’s 0
WINTHROP — Sophomore left wing Rachel Ingram squeezed out a goal with eight minutes remaining in the first half to lift Winthrop to a 1-0 triumph over St. Dom’s in MVC field hockey action Wednesday.
From the middle of the circle, Lauren Kaiser sent the ball in the direction of Ingram. Ingram redirected the ball toward the keeper which deflected into the back of the net for the Ramblers (9-2-1).
Goalie Jenna Fongemie made nine saves for the Saints (0-12-1), while goalie Alyssa Arsenault had a quiet day in net for Winthrop with zero saves.
Spruce Mountain 4, Dirigo 0
LIVERMORE FALLS — Kathryn Ventrella netted a goal in each frame to propel Spruce Mountain to an easy 4-0 victory over Dirigo in a MVC field hockey tilt Wednesday evening.
Randi Duguay and Jahna Couture also tallied for the undefeated Phoenix (11-0).
Ashlee Quirrion needed only two saves to preserve the shutout. Betsy Noyes turned aside 17 shots in the cage for Dirigo (1-9).

Mountain Valley 0
RUMFORD — Carylanne Wolfington netted a pair of goals Wednesday to lead Hall-Dale to a 3-0 victory over Mountain Valley in a MVC girls’ soccer matchup.
Christina Buck also tallied for the Bulldogs (7-4) to complete the scoring.
Kaitlin Armstrong turned aside seven shots between the posts for Mountain Valley.
Hampden 5, EL 4
HAMPDEN — Chelsea Kuzio scored an unassisted goal just three minutes into the second overtime to lift Hampden to a 5-4 victory over Edward Little in a KVAC girls’ soccer tilt Wednesday.
Kuzio and Katie Cyr led Hampden (5-3-2) with two goals each, while Anna Michaud also tallied. Michela Clewey made 10 saves to record the win.
Jacklyn Masters registered a hat trick to lead the Red Eddies (2-6-2), who endured their fourth overtime game of the season. Cory Norcross also tallied to complete the scoring. Taylor Landry and Molly Murray combined efforts to make 10 saves for Edward Little.
Mt. Ararat 2, Lewiston 0
LEWISTON — Forward Haley Michaud notched both of the game’s goals as Mt. Ararat jettisoned Lewiston 2-0 in KVAC girls’ soccer action Wednesday.
The Blue Devils (3-6) dominated in the first half, but failed to sink the ball into the net before the midpoint.
With the wind at their back, the Eagles were able to find the back of the net on two occasions in the second half. Michaud tallied both goals, including a breakaway at the 37:28 mark with the eventual game-winner.
Goalie Kenzie Masselli made nine saves for Lewiston, while goalie Sheene Williams prevented 10 to earn the win in net for Mt. Ararat.
Dirigo 2, Winthrop 0
WINTHROP — Natalie Bolduc scored a pair of goals in the first half as Dirigo held off Winthrop (0-10) in the second half for a 2-0 victory in a girls’ soccer game Wednesday.
Bolduc dropped in her first goal on a Paige Murphy feed and followed up with an unassisted goal to give the Cougars (9-1) a 2-0 edge.
Dirigo outshot Winthrop, 14-5, and Cougars goalie Natasha Deroche made three saves.
Boys’ soccer
Brewer 4, EL 2
BREWER — Jeremy Bissell led a four-goal assault in the first frame that propelled Brewer to a 4-2 victory over Edward Little in a chilly, wind-blown KVAC boys’ soccer matchup Wednesday.
Yuhi Sasaki, Zack Gulesian and Greg Warmouth also tallied for the Witches (2-6-1). Ian Burgess made 10 saves to notch the win.
Jarod Pelletier and Nate Blais each tallied for the Red Eddies (3-5-1), while Ben Bowles (6 saves) and Mike Cote (3 saves) split time between the posts.
Lewiston 8, Cony 0
LEWISTON — Senior striker Benji Saban collected a hat trick to power Lewiston to an 8-0 victory over Cony in KVAC boys’ soccer action Wednesday.
Dahir Muktar connected on the Blue Devils’ (7-1-1) fourth attempt to breach the cage with a hard shot up and away from the keeper three minutes into the game.
Ibrahim Achekh nailed the second goal of the game for Lewiston after bypassing several defenders and finding the right corner of the net on the ground.
Goalie Brandon Elwell was busy in goal deflecting 18 shots for the Rams (1-8), while goalie Eric Soucy turned away seven for Lewiston.
Buckfield 7, GPC 1
WINDHAM — Senior forward Trevor Averill and senior halfback Austin Dooley ground out three goals each to cast off Greater Portland Christian Academy, 7-1, in boys’ soccer action Wednesday.
Without a goal over the first 12 minutes of the game, the Bucks (5-6) compiled five tallies over the remaining 18 minutes of the half.
Adam Simpson notched the lone GPC (6-5) goal with 21 minutes remaining in the game.
Goalie Calvin Downey made eight saves for the Bucks.

FARMINGTON — Lily Barry scored with 4:19 left in overtime to give the University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team a 1-0 victory over Thomas College in North Atlantic Conference action Wednesday at Prescott Field.
The Beavers improved to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in the NAC with a trip to Husson University on tap for Sunday at 1 p.m.
Barry, who had just substituted into the extra session, knocked in her game-winner off a cross from Samantha Webster of Dixfield in transition.
After a quiet opening half (4-1 shots in favor of UMF), Thomas keeper Sofia Sourgiadakis needed to snub Barry, Jessica Martin of Winthrop and Kaleigh Chase in the first five minutes of the second half.
The Beavers outshot the visitors 14-7 and took 13 corners to the Terriers’ four.
Bowdoin 5, Bates 0
LEWISTON — Bowdoin demonstrated why it is ranked second in the country on Wednesday night, with a dominating 5-0 conference win over the Bates College field hockey team at Campus Avenue Field.
The Polar Bears (7-0, 5-0 NESCAC) outshot the Bobcats (2-6, 1-4 NESCAC) by a 46-4 margin but only put 20 shots on goal. Bates sophomore goalie Becca Otley ( played a strong game with 13 saves, while defenders Kate Pagano and Kelly McManus both came up with defensive saves for the Bobcats.
Ella Curren scored a hat trick, getting all three of her goals on penalty corners, to finish the game with six on the year. She opened the scoring in the 19th minute after the insertion by Elizabeth Clegg and the stop by Kassey Matoin. Bowdoin only led 1-0 at the half, despite a 20-1 advantage in shots taken.
Curren made it a two-goal game in the fifth minute of the second half, on another insertion by Clegg.
Women’s soccer
Bates 4, USM 0
LEWISTON — First-year Dakota Donovan and senior Courtney Talcott scored two goals apiece as the Bates women’s soccer registered a decisive 4-0 non-conference victory over the University of Southern Maine on Wednesday.
The Bobcats (2-3-2) scored three goals in the first half to quickly gain control of the game.
They outshot the Huskies (2-9) by a 44-13 margin, including 27-4 in the first half, and also had a 13-2 advantage in corner kicks (10-0 in the first half).
Huskies senior goalie Kat Rothe made 21 saves, while Bates senior Annie Burns made four saves in the shutout.
