Folk icon Jonathan Edwards, renowned for his 1971 blockbuster hit “Sunshine (Go Away Today),” will perform on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Winthrop Performing Arts Center. Edwards will perform fan favorites as well as new songs from his new CD, “My Love Will Keep.” Opening the show will be Central Maine’s The Colwell Brothers, whose repertoire includes high-energy electric blues and rhythm and blues. Pat Colwell, former speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, rips it up on guitar and Bob Colwell is known for his New Orleans-flavored piano work; both provide vocals. Tickets to the 7 p.m. concert are still available for $45/$35 or $30 general admission. Tickets may be purchased at the door or at www.winthropconcerts.org. The arts center is at 211 Rambler Road, Winthrop.
