The Auburn winner of the Lewiston-Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce’s Adopt – A – Spot program, part of its annual beautification program, has challenged area business firms and individuals to help the Chamber make the 1987 event “even bigger and better.”

The Auburn winner — Six Corners Nursery — returned its $100 cash prize to the chamber for next year’s award and even donated another $100 toward the 1987 project.

Rachel Baillargeon and her husband, Harvey Desgrosseilliers, said they felt “by returning the award money and also contributing another $100, it would be an incentive for other area firms and individuals, including landscapers and florist shops, to help make the 1987 event even bigger and better.”
