A deer shot in Durham by Aubrey Sylvester of Durham is on sale at Cloutier’s Market, 281 Lisbon St., in amount to suit purchaser. This is one of the first deer to be cut up in the local markets.

50 years ago, 1961

A variety of fuel oil prices has been reported in the Lewiston and Auburn area, with the prices averaging 16.3 cents. The low price reported was 14 cents and the high 16.8 cents. It was reported most dealers are offering one-cent off per gallon for cash.

Range oil prices range from 18.3 cents a gallon to 19.5 cents. The average is 19.2 cents with no discounts being offered.

25 years ago, 1986

The Holy Family Booster Club is planning a Harvest Dance to be held Saturday at the parish hall.

Dancing will be held to Record Hops Unlimited from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring their own drinks and mixes. Ice and snacks will be provided and prizes will be awarded.

Anyone wishing reservations may contact Greg Gagnier or Nancy Gastonguay. Proceeds will benefit Holy Family Youth Hockey.
