LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen have chosen a dark green background for a sign to be installed on Route 106 near the Leeds line.

The board plans to check out two color samples of lettering, gold and white, before the board makes a final decision on the entrance sign.

Town Manager Kristal Flagg showed the select board two samples that Nancy Smith of Livermore Falls created on Oct. 3. One was with Inc. 1843, and the other without it.

The board decided to add the town’s incorporation date to the design of the 2-foot by 3-foot sign.

The sign will replace a deteriorating welcome sign that was taken down recently, Flagg said.

It will read, “The Town Of” in small letters on an angle above “LIVERMORE FALLS” with “INC 1843” in an oval under the town’s name, and “Welcomes You!” below the oval.

The cost is $150, Flagg said.
