PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The re-election campaign for U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine is reporting more than $3.2 million in contributions as of Sept. 30.

Maine Today Media (http://bit.ly/ogPMRM ) also reports that the Republican incumbent’s campaign raised $792,305 and spent $320,716 during the third quarter. Snowe is up for re-election in 2012.

She’s facing challenges within her party from two tea party-affiliated candidates, Scott D’Amboise (DAM’-boyce) of Lisbon Falls and Andrew Ian Dodge of Harpswell. D’Amboise hasn’t reported what he raised last quarter, but in the 2nd quarter he raised less than $117,500. Dodge didn’t raise enough to warrant a report during the first half.

On the Democratic side, former Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap and state Rep. Jonathan Hinck of Portland are considering runs.
