WAYNE — Guitar virtuoso Denny Breau will join forces with Jan Gill and Friends to give a concert on Sunday, Nov. 6, at The Ladd Center at Cary Memorial Library.

Breau, of Lewiston, has been described as a rhythmically flawless guitar player as well as a gifted singer-songwriter. He is a member of the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame and is equally comfortable playing folk, country, Delta blues and jazz.

The son of popular country artists Hal Lone Pine and Betty Cody and brother of the late, great jazz guitarist Lenny Breau, Denny carries on the family tradition of speaking to the heart through music.

Gill grew up in Livermore Falls, studied music at the University of Maine at Augusta and taught piano for many years at the Ladd Center. She continues to play in bands throughout the state. This spring, she accompanied fiddler Greg Boardman on piano at a Ladd Center concert.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. and a light supper featuring a variety of homemade soups, Wayne’s Huntington bread and assorted drinks and desserts, will be available for sale.

Tickets are $10 in advance (purchased at the library), $12 at the door; children under 17, $5; and families, $25. All proceeds will benefit the library.

The library is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 7 p.m. Monday; 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday; 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday; 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Closed Friday and Sunday. The Ladd Center is at 26 Gott Road. For more information, call 685-3612.
