ROCKPORT — Tori Zupancic sent the ball over to Mariah Treadwell, who moved to the right of the net and punched in the winning goal with 3:35 left in double overtime, as Leavitt shook off Camden Hills with a 2-1 victory in a girls’ soccer game Wednesday.

In the first half, the Hornets (6-3-3) struck first when Desiree Tweedie took Treadwell’s feed and scored. But the Windjammers (7-3-2) tied it up when Lea Smith scored on Caroline Matteo feed.

After the first overtime, Leavitt finally settled the matter when Treadwell dropped in the deciding goal.

The Hornets were feeling the squeeze, especially when Camden Hills outshot the Hornets, 13-5 and held the advantage in corners at 2-0. Leavitt goalie Kelly Pomerleau held off the Windjammers, making 11 saves.

Lisbon 3, Wiscasset 0

LISBON — Kayla Angelico deposited back-to-back goals in the second half and earned an assist as Lisbon dispatched Wiscasset (3-10) with a 3-0 victory in a girls’ soccer game Wednesday.

The Greyhounds (8-3-1) got on the board first in the second half when Brooke Lawrence scored on an Angelico feed. Then it was Angelico’s turn and she scored one unassisted goal and then another on a Paige Galligan assist.

Lisbon outshot Wiscasset, 18-8, and Greyhound goalie Alexa Harmon made five saves.

MCI 2, Oak Hill 1

PITTSFIELD — Victoria Cunningham scored a goal for MCI in the second half to lift them to a 2-1 win over Oak Hill in a KVAC girls’ soccer tilt Wednesday.

Paula Arias gave the Huskies (5-6-1) a 1-0 advantage in the first frame. Gabby Green tallied for the Raiders (3-7-2), who were outshot 12-9 in the contest.

Alana Oliver made nine saves for MCI, while Kelsey Collins turned back nine shots for Oak Hill.

Monmouth 2, Winthrop 0

WINTHROP — Kylie Kemp netted a goal in each half Wednesday as Monmouth hustled to a 2-0 victory over Winthrop in an MVC girls’ soccer matchup.

Jayme Gioen also contributed for the Mustangs (7-5) with an assist. Natalie Sawyer and Adrianna Gonzalez combined for three saves to record the shutout.

Danielle Pease turned aside 12 shots between the posts for Winthrop (1-12).

St. Dom’s 2, Spruce Mountain 1 (OT)

JAY — Kayla McLellan, with an assist from Marley Byrne, snuck past the Spruce Mountain keeper and fired a shot into the net with just three minutes left in the second overtime to lift St. Dom’s to a 2-1 win over Spruce Mountain.

McLellan gave the Saints a 1-0 advantage in the first frame when she scored on a header off a great flip throw by Dayle Jordan.

Alexi Deering tied things up at 1-1 for the Phoenix on a breakaway.

Dirigo 4, MountainValley 1

RUMFORD — Alyssa Wade netted a pair of goals and Natalie Bolduc assisted on all four Dirigo goals as the Cougars remained unbeaten with a 4-1 victory over rival Mountain Valley on Wednesday.

Silvia Lutick and Addy Fuller also scored for Dirigo (11-0-2), while Natasha Deroche handled 17 chances in the cage.

Sarah Klein scored the lone goal for the Falcons (4-7-1), while Kaitlin Armstrong fielded the ball 22 times in net.

Boys’ soccer

Sacopee Valley 4, Buckfield 0

HIRAM — Sacopee Valley (10-1-3) rattled off three goals in a nine-minute stretch in the first half, beating stubborn Buckfield 4-0 in a boys’ soccer game Wednesday.

Mt. Blue 2, Cony 1

AUGUSTA — Max Richard booted a 30-yard shot into the left side of the net just six minutes into the second frame to give Mt. Blue a 2-1 victory over Cony in KVAC boys’ soccer action Wednesday.

Josh Carlson gave the Cougars (6-4-1) a 1-0 lead in the first half when he converted a pass from Drew LaGrange. Chris Paradis scored the lone goal for Cony with just 13 seconds left to play.

Matt Crowley made four saves for Mt. Blue, while Blake Doucette turned aside seven shots for Cony.

Camden Hills 3, Leavitt 0

TURNER — Sam Predham netted a pair of goals to propel Camden Hills to a 3-0 win over Leavitt in KVAC boys’ soccer action Wednesday.

Andrew Flanagan also tallied for the Windjammers (12-0-0) to complete the scoring. Marshall Spear needed only two saves to record the shutout.

Korey Mulherin turned back 14 shots in the cage for Leavitt (3-8-1).

USM, 1, UMF 0

GORHAM — Freshman forward Mazen Aljari headed home the only goal of the match in the 95th minute to give the University of Southern Maine Huskies a 1-0, sudden-death overtime victory over the University of Maine Farmington Beavers Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference game at Hannaford Field.

The victory snapped a four-match losing streak for the Huskies, and improved their record to 3-10-0 overall. The Beavers fall to 6-6-0 overall.

In the extra session, the Huskies swung the ball across the field, right to left, to sophomore Justin Lavertue. Lavertue played a chip into the middle of the penalty area where Aljari got his head on the ball to knock it over UMF sophomore goalkeeper Tennessee Peters from about eight yards out for the winning tally. The goal was the third of the season for Aljari. Aljari has had the game-winning goal in all three USM wins this season.

Bates 2, Husson 1

LEWISTON — Junior Ethan Hirshberg scored both goals as the Bobcat men’s soccer team ended Husson University’s four-game win streak with a 2-1 non-conference victory on Wednesday at Russell Street Field.

Bates took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute when Hirshberg gathered first-year Nick Ford’s kickout pass and lined up an arcing shot over Husson goalie Mason Smith.

Husson (7-5-1) evened the score at 1-1 in the third minute of the second half, with Philip Frost’s unassisted tally.

Bates regained the lead 12 minutes later, when sophomore Ethan Kass’s entry pass to Hirshberg was snuck through a defender’s legs, before Hirshberg wheeled around and got his foot on a low shot under Smith’s reach.

Field hockey

Bowdoin 6, UMF 0

BRUNSWICK — The second-ranked Bowdoin College field hockey team scored three goals in a span of 3:15 late in the first half to spark a 6-0 win over the University of Maine-Farmington on Wednesday evening.

With the victory the Polar Bears remain unbeaten at 9-0, while the loss leaves the Beavers at 6-5 on the season.

The Polar Bears opened the game with 19 consecutive shots before breaking onto the scoreboard with 6:32 left in the first half. Liz Clegg received a pass across the top of the circle from Ella Curren and smacked the ball into cage to start the scoring. At 3:53, Katie Herter finished off a pass in front from Cathleen Smith to increase the lead to two. Smith followed with a goal just 36 seconds later on a feed from Lauren Schroeder.
