RUMFORD — Teachers Lounge Mafia Improv will return to 49 Franklin St. on Friday, Oct. 21, for an evening of mature-rated comedy.

The troupe delivers improv comedy custom-built from audience suggestions, combining games made popular on shows like “Whose Line Is It, Anyway?” and the kind of storytelling behind films like “Spinal Tap” and “Best in Show.”

Everything is made up in the moment, so no two shows are the same.

Teachers Lounge Mafia, based in Western Maine, performs throughout the state and into New Hampshire. Several members recently completed a weeklong study at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York; others presented workshops to summer camps and youth programs. They rounded out their summer with performances at the Portland Improv Festival and Boston Improv festivals. They will deliver their fourth annual irreverent holiday show, “Stale Milk & Sour Cookies,” in Farmington in December, with proceeds going to a local charity.

Making up the troupe are local comic actors Jeff Bailey, Natalie Simmons, Emily Pottle, Dan Ryder, Kyla Wheeler, Gavin Pickering and Alex Kreitzman. For more information and videos of troupe performances, visit www.teachersloungemafiaimprov.com.

The show will be on the first level in the Fernand Room at 49 Franklin, which recently received sound and lighting improvements. Doors open at 5 p.m. for seating, drinks and a pub menu; the show begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 day of show. Limited tickets are available at All That Jazz and Bartash’s Card and Gift on Congress Street and online at www.49franklin.com.
